Rep. Matt Salmon, R-Ariz., will not join Sen. Rob Portman, R-Wis., in backing gay marriage just because his son is gay. “I don’t support the gay marriage,” said Salmon, who is a social conservative.“My son is by far one of the most important people in my life. I love him more than I can say,” he told 3TV. “It doesn’t mean that I don’t have respect, it doesn’t mean that I don’t sympathize with some of the issues.
